Recently, Kristina life changed in an instant. What doctors initially believed was stomach cancer became a diagnosis of Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that has spread throughout her body. It has been a heartbreaking and overwhelming journey, filled with countless appointments, tests, treatments, and difficult decisions.
For more than 20 years, Kristina has dedicated her career to being a special education teacher, pouring her heart into helping children learn, grow, and believe in themselves. She has spent decades giving her students patience, compassion, encouragement, and unwavering support. Teaching has never been just a job to her—it’s who she is.
That’s the thing about Kristina: she gives everything she has to everyone else.
She is the friend who always shows up and the family member everyone can count on. She has the kindest soul you’ll ever meet and a sense of humor that can make you laugh even on the hardest days.
Outside of the classroom, she finds joy in life’s simple pleasures—playing soccer, hiking, camping, tending to her garden, getting lost in a good book, sharing ice cream with loved ones, relaxing by the beach, and spending time with her beloved dogs.
